Flying to/from Philadelphia or via New York

Because of Philadelphia’s proximity to New York City, it’s completely viable to fly into New York City and then make your way to Philadelphia once you arrive. However, Philly has several of its airports as well; this includes an international airport. The two airports are titled the Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). NEPA functions as the aviation relief station for PIA but sees well over 36,000 flights per year.

Traveling to/from PHL

Take note of when your flight is arriving into PHL. Be wary that if you arrive during peak traffic hours, you’ll likely see a large increase in the amount of time it will take you to get into the city. This will also affect the rates of taxi drivers and other ride services. Expect a delay of several hours if traveling out of the airport around 5 p.m. local time.
